HUD Distributes Funding to Address Youth Homelessness

38 communities were selected to increase supportive programs and rehousing.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded $51 million to 38 communities this month to support social services addressing youth homelessness. The funding provided by the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) and the Youth Homelessness System Improvement (YHSI) will help improve rapid rehousing, transitional housing, and support programs preparing homeless youth for job applications and health management.

“We know that preventing and ending youth homelessness takes a full community effort that requires support from all of our partners,” said HUD Acting Secretary Adrianne Todman. “HUD’s YHDP and YHSI grants will provide communities with necessary funding to address this issue head on and help build more seamless systems to help youth find stability, opportunity, and success.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for Acting Secretary Adrianne Todman as she heads the department.
  • For U.S. housing officials to be prudent in their efforts to alleviate and resolve youth homelessness.
